Turkey Trot and Thanksgiving Feast 2023

Look at my Superstar Turkeys in Mrs. Johnston's class! Here are the Turkey Trot T-shirt crew members:

And here are my chefs getting ready to cook the turkeys!

The 2nd and 3rd grade classes went outside at 9:45. The weather was PERFECT! Here we are at the circle, getting ready to trot!!

Our principal, Mrs. Araiza, was ready with her chef outfit because we exceeded our fundraising goal!

We stretched our feathers first.

Ready...get set...FLY!!!

The running track was extended all the way around the driveway. It was quite a long way to do just 1 lap. The kids did a great job.

They were completely exhausted afterwards. They drank a ton of water and ate their fruit snacks.

The fun wasn't over...for lunch, we got to enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving Feast!

Here is Mrs. Sarmiento with her amazing son Isaiah:) I thank the Lord each and every single day for her. She keeps our classroom running like a well-oiled machine. I honestly could not do what I do every day  without her by my side. She is simply the best!

And yes, I did eat two plates of food. Yes I did.

After lunch and recess, we spread out our blankets and pillows and got ready for the movie...

This was in connection to our opinion writing that we did recently: Should turkey be served as the main dish for Thanksgiving?

I am so thankful to the Lord for this group of kids that I get to call my own this year. I am thankful to their parents who are so supportive. I am thankful that I get to come to school every day to talk about Jesus with them. I AM TRULY BLESSED.

I pray that you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving break. See you on Monday, November 27th in the land of Narnia!
