Fly on the Wall POV of the First Week

We had a great first full week of school. As a parent, I'm sure you wish you could be a fly on the wall to see how the kids are doing, right?

I tried to take some photos throughout the week so you could see bits and pieces of their experiences.

This is our new music teacher, Mrs. Cabral. She will be coming to our classroom to teach her lessons.

I'm realizing that I'm going to need some noise-canceling headphones if I'm going to get any work done during Music class, especially when they start recorders!! LOL!

Here are some candid pics of the kids answering some comprehension questions for their story in Journeys. They did a great job using text evidence to support their answers.

Mrs. Plitt is our wonderful Spanish teacher. Here is a video of their goodbye song:

In chapel, Mrs. Araiza and Mrs. Perez talked about this year's theme, "Bearing Fruit".

The Student Care Team helped the students understand how we can bring the fruit of the Spirit to the playground and to the cafeteria. We will work hard on these godly character traits:

We loved worshipping together in chapel on Thursday! Thank you Miss Alura and Mrs. Reyes for leading us.

And finally, I'm sure you would like to match the names you've been hearing with faces.  Here are the 25 Superstars of Mrs. Johnston's 3rd grade class:

Chapel and STEM BINS

I absolutely LOVE coming together for worship and prayer on the first half-day of school.

Thank you Segie for representing us well. Great job on leading us in worship (Mr. Seals, too!).

On Friday, we got to do a team-building activity by using our STEM bins.

The first assignment was for them to build a house. Then, they traded bins and had to build a bridge. They are only allowed to use the items given, and use their engineering skills to build through teamwork.

Their final assignment was to build an amusement park for the mini-eraser animals! They had a blast with this one!

We had a wonderful start to our 2023-2024 school year! Thankful to the Lord for an AMAZING group of kids and parents :)
