Book in a Box 2018

WHAT A GREAT BOOK REPORT PRESENTATION DAY WE HAD!

It was so neat to see the kids' cute little personalities come out as they gave their oral presentations. Some were super-nervous, while others couldn't wait to put on a show:)

Throughout the year, we will keep working on having eye-contact with the audience, having a voice that projects, and having that dramatic flair that keeps the audience engaged.

SO proud of you all!

SOUNDS Like FUN in Science!

We have been learning about all kinds of ENERGY in science, and sound energy is one of them.

In order to see the invisible compression waves in action, we decided to do an experiment. Can we prove that sound actually carries energy?

Could we, by just the power of sound, move salt particles without touching them or blowing on them?

Here is the class in action, saying "ahhhhh" softly at first...

And then a super loud "AHHHHH!!!" to see what happens.

We recorded our observations. Yes, indeed, sound does carry energy. Our voices vibrated the saran wrap, and made the salt particles jump all over the place!

We recorded a few SLOW MOTION VIDEOS to capture the moment. Enjoy!

Twin Day!

Our Spirit Rally days are so much fun since we get to dress up! Our first dress up day was TWIN DAY! Mrs. Johnston even got to be a part of the quadruplet team!

UNITED WE ARE BOLD!

Ephesians 1:3 says, "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ."

This year, our theme is, "United We are BOLD". I interviewed each student to see what they would say if I asked them HOW they could be bold for the Lord by sticking together. Below are the answers they gave me!
