FOIL TOWER CHALLENGE 2020

Welcome to our first classroom blog post! I try to take pictures occasionally to help you take a little peek inside of our class activities.

On Friday, we got to do a STEM activity while creating a team-building experience...and just plain ole' fun as well.

The students were each given a roll of aluminum foil, and were given the challenge to build the tallest tower without the use of any other material except for the foil and its container.

It was fun to see everyone's style and way of thinking!

After a while, I showed them a "hint" video of someone who built a 111-cm foil tower. The kids continued with this new inspiration...

In the end, we did have a group with an extremely high tower (I apologize for the non social distanced photo of them!! They did disband immediately after the photo was taken).

Now that I'm looking, this group below won the tallest of their 3 individual towers combined. Great job!

Fun was had by all.

By the way, I just want to give a shout-out to Alex of AKRA Plastic Products in Ontario. They gave me such a great deal on our clear table dividers! It is wonderful to know that our surrounding community businesses are supporting UCA and praying for us!
