Super Duper Store Day!!

What do you get when you mix economics, art, math, language arts, and FUN altogether? You get a SUPER DUPER STORE DAY in Mrs. Johnston's 3rd grade class!

First, the students created their own place of business with a unique twist.

They worked hard on writing a persuasive essay on why people should come to their new place of business.

Next, they recorded a 30 second commercial spot and summarized the most exciting points of their essay.

Then, the students designed the inside and outside of their store along with a logo and their workers' uniform.

Finally, they brought items to sell, went to the First Bank of Johnston to get a loan to open their business, counted their spending money, and prepared for the grand opening:)

The students took turns being producers and consumers.

They purchased, sold, and made change all the while trying to be the top seller in the class.

Here is Izzy trying to make a sale. She did a great job because she was the winner by making a total of $119 in profit AFTER returning the loan to the Bank of Johnston. Congratulations!!

Counting money is a lot of fun, but they were wishing it were real:)

Mr. Puffinstuff says, "I'm tired from all the excitement! Good job boys and girls!"
