Corey the Dribbler, Spirit Rally, and Static Electricity

We were so happy to welcome Corey the Dribbler to end our Anti-Bullying month with an amazing assembly!

Connor was chosen as one of the volunteers to be on stage with him! He did a great job representing our class. Way to go, Connor!

Here is a little glimpse of what our rally looked like on Friday. The 1st grade teachers did a great job leading us in fun games, and showing school spirit!

STATIC ELECTRICITY EXPERIMENT!

It was so much fun to experiment with static electricity!!

We cut out a snake out of tissue paper...

...and charged up our balloons! Watch the video to see what happened:)

Of course, we had to do the good ole static on the hair trick!

Science is SO. MUCH. FUN!

Up-Cycling Craft in Social Studies, and Marshmallow Shooter in Science

Thank you for sending in those paper towel tubes! We got to create our up-cycling craft. I was blown away by the kids' creativity!

I dumped all of the crafty items on the floor, and just let them create whatever they wanted on their own.

Here are the photos of their final product.

Our final activity for the Force and Motion unit was the creation of the Marshmallow Shooters!

First, we had to "test" the marshmallows to see if they were ok or not. HAHA! We liked this part the best 😜

This is what happened when they applied a SMALL amount of force:

Next, they applied a LARGE amount of force:

We also competed with one another to see which marshmallow shooter worked the best:

WE LOVE SCIENCE!
