We had SUCH a BLAST at Riley's Farm on Friday! Thank you again to our chaperones who were so helpful.
We arrived a bit early, so Miss Rice taught our kids a new game.

Did your kids tell you that we traveled back in time on our Magic School Bus, and arrived in the Colonial days?
We started our time by learning how to weave yarn made of wool.
This was pretty difficult! We ended up being very thankful for our clothes and blankets that we could just purchase at the store, pre-woven.
We also got to experience some old fashioned toys and games. Who knew that wooden sticks and hoops could be so much fun??
I pointed out to the kids that they were all playing outside and having fun without their tech devices (as I snapped photos on my iPad).
I tried to get everyone in action. I'm sorry if I missed your student for some reason.
Look at the beautiful blue skies, by the way. The weather was absolutely PERFECT, and we thank the Lord for the sunshine, no wind, and good air quality.
There was a new station this year...we got to feed sheep! They were so cute:)
At the quill and ink station, the kids got to experience writing with a feather quill! If you were wondering why the written messages sounded so morbid, it's because the guide told the kids to write their last will and testament to the parents since they would be going off to war soon!
The students did some chores in the summer kitchen.
They churned the cream to make some butter.
The bread had to be kneaded and rolled.
They also got to grind the wheat until it turned into flour.
Let the season of fall officially begin!
