Spiritual Emphasis Week and 103rd Day of School

 Spiritual Emphasis Week

Monday

We had prayer stations around the room, following the acronym of ACTS:

The last station was a place to meditate on the Love Chapter that we have been memorizing in Bible class.

The students rotated on their own and prayed silently. At the end, everyone joined me in the middle of the room for worship time through songs. I was so moved by their sincerity. I wanted to take pictures, but felt that it was too holy of a moment to start taking photos. I will treasure that moment in my heart forever.

Tuesday

Panel of Teachers

Mrs. Andrews and Mr. Lopez (the new STEAM teachers), Mrs. Arteaga (first grade teacher), Mrs. Linton (third grade teacher) and I got to answer some questions that the Student Council Chaplain came up with. We got to share with the kids how we came to know Jesus, what our favorite Bible verses are, what we would tell our 5th grade selves, how our friends help us know Jesus better, and how we spend time with Jesus each day.

Wednesday

Speaker: Mrs. Sepulveda

We were absolutely blown away by the powerful message spoken by Mrs. Sepulveda, our 5th grade aide. She told us of scientific evidences to support that God is real.

1) Did you know that our bodies are held together by proteins called Laminin? And guess what shape they are...it's the shape of a cross!! Colossians 1: 16 and 17 tell us that "by Him all things are created, both in the heavens and on the earth, visible and invisible...all things have been created through Him and for Him, and in Him all things hold together." This is incredible!

If the earth were any closer to the sun, we would burn up and die. If the earth were any further away we would freeze to death. God in His infinite wisdom and power keeps our solar system in perfect positions!!

                        Thursday

            Worship Chapel

We all felt the presence of the Holy Spirit that day. It was a beautiful time of worship and prayer. Again, I did not feel comfortable taking photos at that time, but I can show you some moments captured by others in chapel that day. I LOVED seeing the students praying earnestly for one another.

Friday

Speaker: Mrs. Kaisa

On Friday, Mrs. Kaisa returned to Elementary to speak to us about FALLING IN LOVE with GOD'S WORD.

The students listened very intently as she encouraged us to not just read what He says, but to actually DO what He says. We are so grateful for the Love Letter that Jesus wrote to each of us.

The kids had amazing energy as they sang some songs with Miss Cassie who came back to lead in worship on that day!

We also had the 103rd day of school on Thursday! The kids wrote down some things that I say 103 times...HAHA...and they were spot on!

"Read for 5 minutes."
"Everything down, hands and eyes."
"Class, class."
"Classroom manners."
"Classroom behavior."
"Fold your hands and close your eyes."
(Always saying something about food😂)
"Eyes on me."
"How are you so smart!"
"I see some shifty eyes."
"Regular positions."
"Switch-a-roo positions."
"All by myself...🎵🎵"
"The words are not on my face."
"Go all the way around."

They also wrote some pretty funny things on an activity page that we did, so look in your child's homework folder to see what they said they'd be doing when they are 103 years old. Brayden said he'll be working at Starbucks, and Adie said she'll be a cat lady. Bwahahaaa!

At the end of the day, they were in groups of 4 with a box of STEM items. All I said was "103"... and told them "ready, get set, and go".

I cannot believe that our 2nd Trimester is almost over. This year is flying by!!

I am going to enjoy every single day with this group of kids. I don't want them growing up too fast.
