FINALLY BACK at RILEY'S FARM in 2022!

We had a BLAST at Riley's Farm today! We all boarded the Magic School Bus, and went backwards in time.

We were so glad to do this with the other 3rd grade classes!

When we arrived, the year was 1700. The settlers were very confused about our clothing, and kept asking what cell phones were 😉.

At the first station, the kids learned about the daily tools that the colonists used.

Then we got to feed the sheep! They were hungry!!

This turkey looked absolutely delicious.                                   Thanksgiving is coming soon, little buddy!

I LOVED watching the kids play outside with toys and games from the Colonial times. See? They don't need a device to have fun😊.

The candle-dipping station was everyone's favorite. Please instruct the kids to let you know when they decide to light them!

The Blacksmith demonstrated how metal was melted and poured into the shape of whatever they were making.

Next, the kids got try writing with a feather quill and ink.

The kids learned about proper etiquette,                                               thanks to the book written by George Washington.

The ladies learned how to curtsy, and the gentlemen bowed.

The boys learned how to properly ask a lady to dance.

Our final rotation was the weaving station.

This turned out to be pretty hard! We are thankful that we can just purchase our clothing and blankets rather than having to weave them.

Thank you so much to all of our chaperones who joined us.

I also heard that the chicken pot pie and apple dumpling a la mode  were DELICIOUS. My apple turnover was soooooo good.

Have a restful weekend, and enjoy your apple pie!
