DECEMBER FUN!

Worship with Mr. and Mrs. Penn

We were SO VERY BLESSED to have Avery's parents, Brandon and Anissa Penn, come and lead us in worship during our Bible time!

Our hearts were so full, and now we are ready to go into the Christmas season!!

Thank you for taking the time to come and lead us, Mr. and Mrs. Penn!

WOWWW!! What a voice!!

(Avery and her little sis๐Ÿ’—)

If you are still looking for a place to worship, please click on this link to find out more about a new church started by the Penn's called Beyond Church. At this time, they meet on the first and third Sundays at the Jesse Turner Center.

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you so much for your participation in creating the boxes for children all over the world! Because of your generosity, kids will not only get presents, but will also hear the Gospel message of Jesus in their own language.

If you are tracking your package, please let us know where your box ended up!

We prayed over each of the boxes...

...and delivered them to the office!

Spelling Bee

Congratulations to our in-class Spelling Bee winner! Kason got first place, and he will be heading to the ACSI Spelling Bee competition in February. We will be cheering for you, Kason!!

Our second place winner was Justin, and our third place was Philip. SO proud of you! Great job, everyone.

Christmas Chapel/Drama Club

A shout-out to our Drama Club kids, Connor and Kennedy, who performed in chapel. They did SUCH a great job, reenacting the true meaning of Christmas.

WEEK TWO of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

CS Lewis was careful to point out that Aslan the lion is not safe nor tame..."but he is GOOD."

This was his way of explaining the fact that our God is not some genie in the sky, waiting to grant you any wish. Sometimes we focus way too much on the fact that He is loving, forgiving, gracious, and our best friend--which He is all of that, of course!

But one must not forget that He is HOLY, PURE, and RIGHTEOUS. He is to be honored and obeyed. Not only that, he abhors sin and is repulsed by it!!

This is why I believe that CS Lewis made certain to say that Aslan is not safe, and he is not tame. He is the King of the woods.

Because of the ugliness of our sins, a sacrifice had to be made in order for us to be in God's presence.

"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards." (Chapter 15)

THANK YOU, JESUS, for your sacrifice! We worship You!

Enjoy the photos of our kids with Aslan the Lion:

I am SO impressed with their artwork of Aslan! All I did was give them a starting point of his eyebrows, and the guiding lines for the length of his face...they did all of the rest. WOW!!
