BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR JESUS 2025

We wanted to set our hearts right for the Birthday party for Jesus, so we began by lighting our final Advent candle, the Christ candle. It was only appropriate to sing Happy Birthday to our guest of honor:

(Video credit to the mom helpers at the party...thank you for sending them!!)

We also wanted to recite Luke 2:10-14 to recognize the moment that the Rescuer arrived on earth:

We also sang some Christmas hymns. I absolutely love worshipping with these kids. They sing beautifully and bless my heart every single time.

After the songs, we spent some time thanking Jesus for coming to this earth. The children's prayers were so precious, and I know that God was smiling so big!!

Next, it was time to eat! We had "chicken and waffles" (chocolate chip waffles and CFA nuggets), yogurt, and carrots with Ranch. The kids LOVED it, so thank you for your donation along with our class funds that allowed me to order the nuggets.

My daughter Ellie came to the party since she wanted to meet the class! She loves this age group, and enjoyed visiting all of the tables.

Next, we played a game of "Who's Hello?" ...but a Christmas edition of it.

It's a game of trying to guess whose voice is saying "Merry Christmas". Here's a short clip from a mom:

And finally, the moment that they'd all been waiting for...the BIG REVEAL of their Secret Santa!

This is always my favorite part...the opening of the gifts! I love their reactions...it's like they won the lottery...LOL!! Their joy is so pure!

Thank you to these beautiful moms (and David, too!) for helping! And thanks again for providing the photos and videos!

Have a wonderful Christ-centered Christmas! See you on January 12, 2026!!!!!

WEEK 2 of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe 2025

I LOVE this quote in the book.

To me, the "untamed" lion represents the holiness of God and his hatred of sin, his majesty, his immense glory in which we would not even be able to stand if we were in his presence.

His GOODNESS is represented through his display of humility, servanthood, sacrifice, unconditional love, forgiveness, and his plan for our salvation through INCARNATION!!! This. Is. Mind-blowing.

Jesus is so, so good.

On Monday, Aslan came to our classroom. It was so wonderful to finally meet the King of the whole wood, the Emperor Over the Sea, the rightful true King over all of Narnia.

There are no pictures of Tuesday's reading...it was THE MOST IMPORTANT day, and I'm so very thankful that all 23 of our students were present.

I don't think there was a dry eye in the room when we realized what Aslan did for Edmund!

I hope you had the chance to read "The Gospel According to Narnia", detailing the connections between the novel and the Bible.

I would love to hear from you regarding your thoughts on this beautiful novel, and what your kids have been learning.

On Tuesday night, we had our wonderful Christmas concert. They looked so cute that I had to take more pictures!!

Now, returning to The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe...

Because Aslan came to Narnia, the "thaw" happened...the snow started to melt away, and signs of Spring were evident.

Wednesday's reading was another special day...this was the time when we got to make the connection between the chapter and the events of EASTER!!!

I wish I could have taken a video of the kids cheering and jumping for joy when Aslan came back to life! It was PURE JOY. I got chills as I was reading to them!!

This week, we did not have snacks and gifts to go along with each chapter, because the reading alone was a gift in itself. And the content did not disappoint!

I do want to share with you some beautiful works of art by your children. Here are their drawings of Aslan, the fiercely strong and fiercely loving lion:

“But what does it all mean?” asked Susan when they were somewhat calmer.

“It means,” said Aslan, “that though the Witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still which she did not know. Her knowledge goes back only to the dawn of time. But if she could have looked a little further back, into the stillness and the darkness before Time dawned, she would have read there a different incantation.

She would have known that when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor’s stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backward.”
